Welcome to the Melville Districts Teeball Club
We have come to an end of another successful and exciting season in 2011/2012!
A big big thankyou to all those hard workers on the committee, coaches, managers, umpires, line markers. Parents helping in the canteen, setting up diamonds, packing up diamonds, helping out at our carnival and wind up etc. etc. etc. The amount of parents that help out at in a Junior sports club is directly proportional to the success of the club. We are lucky in that regard.
The players may be too young to understand and appreciate the effort that has been put in by their parents, but as they age, some of their happiest childhood memories are likely to be of playing teeball!
Also Little League Baseball is starting to boom at our club so think about signing up next season! Playing LL Baseball at our club ensures that players where age appropriate, can play both Baseball and Teeball as 99% of the time, training times, and game fixtures are set to never conflict with each other. Playing both sports at the same time, allows kids to still enjoy the excitement of Teeball while slowly picking up the extra complexities of baseball and learning to hit a pitched ball.
The current age cutoff for Teeball is school Year 5. There is a TBAWA motion to change that to increase the cut-off age to include Yr 6’s to be voted on at the May 2012 TBAWA meeting. Even if that is unsuccessful, Yr 6’s don’t be disheartened, we will still try our best to field teeball teams for you and a competition to suit.
Check back here mid-year for details of teeball and baseball registration for the 2012/2013 season. See you then!!
Best Regards
MDTBC Committee

Have a TeeBall rules question? or not sure about what rule applied in a situation that happened in a game? Feel free to email our chief Umpire at umpire@melvilleteeball.org.au for a determination. From what we have seen so far, we have exceptional umpires at our club and they deserve our support.
Season starts October 2011, with a Xmas break, concluding in March 2012.
Teeball is played on either Friday night or Saturday morning and all teams train one night during the week (training day is decided between the parents and the coach).
Teeball is an exciting sport for girls and boys as everyone gets to have a turn at all positions and batting regardless of ability. Teeball is run by parents so every parent needs to be prepared to help out in some way, whether it's coaching or umpiring or taking a turn to score or burn a sausage!!! Melville Districts Teeball Club has excellent facilities, being one of the only clubs to have lights facilities and a large clubroom and also bar and canteen facilities.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about our great club, do not hesitate to contact us by email or phone. More information can also be found on our website www.melvilleteeball.org.au currently under refurbishment!
