President's Message
Belmont Raiders Inc., has been operating since 1978 at Forster Park in Belmont with the greatly appreciated assistance of Belmont City Council facilities, local sponsors and committee persons who work for the benefit of all players and family members.
Tee-Ball
Tee-Ball is a modified version of Baseball. It introduces girls and boys between 4 years and 13 years of age to the skills of throwing, catching, batting, fielding and base running in a game modified for all players needs and capabilities whilst playing with friends and making new friends. The major modification is the use of an adjustable tee from which the ball is hit, instead of the batter facing a pitched ball. In addition duration of games and equipment is appropriate in size and weight for the age groups involved, e.g. for under 7s, diamonds are 45 feet between bases and the game lasts 45mins. For the older age groups, distance between bases is 60 feet and the game lasts one hour, or nine innings (which ever comes first).
The club supplies club shirts (with sponsors logo) and team pants to all players. All new players signing up for the first time, also receive a free Raiders cap. Players are to provide their own mitt, appropriate footwear, sunscreen and water. All games are played at Forster Park on Saturday mornings. Training is on Tuesday at a time suitable for all players. A small number of twilight games are played in lieu of training.

Little League Baseball
Little League baseball is being re-introduced in 2009/10, after an absence from Belmont Raiders Inc. of approx. 10 years. Catering for children from the ages of 8 -12 years Little League baseball not only continues the emphasis placed on skills such as throwing, catching, batting, fielding and base running, but it is often the child's first introduction to batting a moving (pitched) ball. The distance between the bases is 60 feet and the distance from the pitcher’s mound to home plate is 46 feet. Outfield fences must be at least 165 feet from home plate. The bases and pitching rubber are also slightly smaller than in standard baseball. Also, unlike fields at almost all levels of competitive baseball for teenagers and adults, the distance between home plate and the outfield fence is constant throughout fair territory.
At the end of the season, all players receive a team photo, trophy and participate in a fun-filled windup.Involvement by parents as coaches, managers, scorers, umpires and spectators is encouraged , your child(ren) love having you participate. The club will hold coaching, umpiring and 'how to score' clinics, along with providing rule booklets to any interested party. To all players participating this season, re-registering and/or new, we warmly welcome you and wish you the very best of enjoyment for you and your families throughout this season.
